Baumit – building better together

Baumit, part of the Austrian Schmid Industrie Holding, is one of the leading brands on the European building materials market. For years, it has been developing a range of products that support conscious design – combining aesthetics, durability and comfort. “We build better together” is the company’s vision, based on the belief that architecture requires collaboration and the search for new solutions. Baumit creates intelligent materials that simplify the construction process and enhance the working comfort of designers and contractors.

How did it all begin?

The brand’s history dates back to 1988, when two Austrian manufacturers joined forces to create a new standard in the industry. International expansion soon followed. Today, Baumit products are used in 21 European countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1994, choosing Wrocław as its headquarters. Dynamic growth and a tailored product range quickly made it one of the leaders in construction chemicals – a position it maintains to this day.

From façades to interiors

The Polish portfolio comprises around 200 products – thermal insulation systems, facade plasters and paints, machine-applied plasters, mortars, screeds, concretes, self-levelling compounds, and solutions for tiles and the restoration of historic buildings. The range also includes materials that support a healthy indoor microclimate. Production takes place at three plants: in Pobiedziska, Łowicz and Bełchatów, with a factory in Zimna Wódka set to join them soon.

The façade – a space for creative expression

Baumit focuses on viewing the façade as an integral part of the design. The company’s solutions allow for the free use of colour, texture and material, creating façades ranging from smooth to distinctive textured compositions.

Europe’s widest colour palette

The Baumit Life colour system offers nearly a thousand shades of plasters and paints – from white to deep tones. Colours in the Premium product range that require this have been enriched with cool pigments that reflect sunlight, enabling the safe use of intense colours on large surfaces.

Textured classics

The range includes silicone, silicate, silicate-silicone, acrylic and mineral plasters. Products from the Premium range, such as StarTop, CrystalTop and PuraTop, address specific challenges: stain resistance, the highest surface cleanliness and the durability of intense colours.

Creative textures

Baumit CreativTop is a flexible decorative plaster that allows you to create unique textures – from smooth surfaces to deep textures. It enables you to achieve concrete, brick or wood effects. Baumit mosaic plasters replicate the appearance of natural stones such as granite, sandstone or basalt. Mica additives give them a refined sheen. MosaikSuperfine and MosaikTop products enable the creation of durable, decorative façades. CleverShape panels allow you to shape the rhythm and structure of the façade, offering a ribbed or plank effect. They are resistant to deformation and can be used in thermal insulation systems or as a standalone decorative feature.

Facades that inspire

An overview of façade possibilities is provided by the Façade of the Year competition, organised since 2007, in which over 3,000 projects have been submitted. Its international counterpart is the Baumit Life Challenge – a competition for the title of European Façade of the Year.

Knowledge backed by research

In 2012, Baumit launched the Innovation Centre in Wopfing, where research and development work is carried out. In 2014, Baumit Viva Park was opened – a complex of test houses analysing the impact of building materials on indoor microclimates. The millions of data points collected led to the development of systems such as Ionit and Klima.

A sustainable path

The GO2morrow programme encompasses initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, promoting the circular economy and education. Baumit products hold EMICODE EC1 PLUS and natureplus certifications, as well as PZH approvals. The company is also involved in social and educational initiatives.
