The Hörmann Group is Europe’s largest supplier of doors and gates. Since the company was founded in 1935, over 20 million gates have been manufactured and sold worldwide.
The development of today’s company began in the 1950s with the industrial-scale production of up-and-over garage doors, which were an absolute novelty at the time. Thanks to the production of sectional doors, which operate vertically and therefore do not take up too much space, a new perspective for growth opened up in the 1960s. Since then, the product range has been significantly expanded. Today, alongside its well-known classic products, roller doors, fire-rated and high-speed doors, door operators and control systems, loading bay and access control systems, fire and smoke-proof shutters, steel and aluminium external and internal doors, as well as multifunctional and special-purpose wooden doors.
Across 36 specialist plants in Europe, North America and Asia, over 6,000 employees work on the development and production of top-quality gates, doors, frames and operators, which are used by both private individuals and commercial customers. Quality, reliability, safety and, at the same time, an excellent appearance are the hallmarks of Hörmann products. The headquarters of the Hörmann Group, which operates globally, is located in the small town of Steinhagen in Westphalia, Germany. At the disposal customers have access to over 100 company-owned distribution centres in more than 40 countries, as well as several hundred business partners in almost 50 countries worldwide.
