The roofing tile factory in Kunice combines centuries-old tradition with modern technology. As early as the beginning of the 19th century, a small brickyard stood on this very site, producing bricks and roof tiles from local clay. In 1994, one of the most modern roofing tile production plants in Central Europe was built on the site of the brickyard. The fully automated plant was equipped with a modern and environmentally friendly tunnel kiln, heated by natural gas.
WIEKOR Sp. z o.o., with its plant in Kunice, is part of KORAMIC-WIENERBERGER Dachprodukte, which is the result of a collaboration between two leading European manufacturers of building ceramics: KORAMIC Roofing Systems and WIENERBERGER Ziegelindustrie.
This has combined a strong and proven Polish tradition with international experience and technology.
