GAZUNO is an engineering firm that has been providing renewable energy solutions for over 15 years: gas-fired absorption heat pumps, , compressor heat pumps, gas condensing boilers, chillers and dedicated control systems. The company is currently the main supplier in Poland of equipment from the Italian manufacturers Robur and Enerblue, as well as the Finnish brand Oilon.

The company provides investors with support from concept through to implementation and after-sales care. At the stage of installation planning, it assists with the selection of equipment and fittings, the creation of process diagrams and , preparing energy performance certificates and designing automation that integrates all the equipment into a single coherent system. Thanks to remote access, it optimises equipment operation and provides inspections and maintenance of the installations.

These solutions are used by local authorities, food processing plants, heating plants, schools, churches, housing estates, service and retail facilities, and other businesses requiring medium- and high-capacity heat pumps.

GAZUNO has installed over 2,000 units and completed over 400 projects across Poland. The total heating capacity of all installations is almost 80 MW, and the largest of these, with a heating capacity of 1.6 MW, is located in the Palm House at Książ Castle.

As part of the GAZUNO Academy of Professionals, the company organises free online training courses aimed at promoting up-to-date knowledge to facilitate the day-to-day work of designers and energy auditors.

The company’s headquarters are located in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia, where, in addition to office space, GAZUNO has its own laboratory with a test facility. The company’s aim is to support customers in making responsible choices, jointly creating effective systems based on renewable energy sources, whilst sharing positive energy.

How does it work?

From concept, through design and schematics, to installation, commissioning and regular inspections of the equipment.

GAS ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS

These are units that use gas as fuel and, through absorption, extract heat from renewable energy sources such as water, ground and air. Thanks to the use of a hermetic refrigeration system and the use of a natural refrigerant, these units are not subject to F-gas regulations.

COMPRESSOR HEAT PUMP

These units extract heat from a renewable source, which may be air, ground or water. Electricity drives a mechanical compressor – depending on the series, this may be an inverter, piston or scroll compressor. Some units use natural refrigerants with a close to zero. A single pump can be used simultaneously for heating and cooling, which reduces the cost of thermal modernisation.

How does a gas absorption heat pump differ from a compressor heat pump?

In the former, the drive is a gas burner, and in the latter, an electric compressor. In the system of a gas absorption heat pump, water and ammonia are used instead of synthetic refrigerants (HFCs). The difference is also evident in the system’s drive unit. Instead of the compressor used in typical heat pumps, the absorption unit employs a generator-absorber system.

CONDENSING GAS BOILERS

Gas boilers assist the heat pump in maintaining high efficiency at very low, sub-zero temperatures. Adding AY gas boilers as the final stage of the cascade will reduce equipment purchase costs whilst maintaining the efficiency of the entire system. Importantly, thanks to their outdoor location, compliance with fire safety regulations is not required.

CHILLERS

The use of chilled water chillers enables the preparation of a medium with the appropriate parameters and properties. These units are widely used in air conditioning and in . Chillers may consist of a compressor-based refrigeration system and a water circuit cooled in an evaporator or, in the case of Robur units, a hermetic water-R717 absorption system.

MONOBLOCK AIR CONDITIONERS

The Innova 2.0 air conditioner combines three functions in a single unit: heating, cooling and dehumidification. The entire refrigeration system is housed inside the unit installed in the room. This air conditioner is most commonly installed indoors on the building’s external walls; installation on partition walls is possible with the use of a suitable adapter.

AIR CONDITIONING CONVECTORS

These are devices that act as receivers for heat pumps. Their function is to heat and cool rooms. Air source heat pumps are ideal for low-temperature water systems powered by heat pumps. . Innova air-convector units stand out for their compact size, quiet operation and refined design, making them they are suitable for use in accommodation facilities, private homes, historic buildings or catering establishments; .

• DC inverter with low energy consumption.

The GAZUNO range includes AirLeaf, Filomuro and Filoterra units from the manufacturer Innova.

GAZUNO AUTOMATION

Automation enables control of the heat pump located on the site. GAZUNO automation solutions enable the control and power supply of the heating and cooling system from a single automation cabinet. Specialists design the system to effectively reduce operating costs and maximise the service life of the entire system. Each automation project is prepared individually, ensuring it is tailored to the investor’s expectations and the parameters of the equipment used.

Gazuno Basic Automation (APG) – is a ready-made solution that allows for the effective control the operation of the buffer tank system. The user receives a fully integrated and comprehensive power supply and control cabinet. It is possible to expand the cabinet to include control of heating circuits.

Gazuno Dedicated Automation (ADG) – recommended where control of the entire system. The facility manager can control actuators and measuring devices. Access to the visualisation of the entire system’s operation is available via the Internet or via a touchscreen panel.

The GAZUNO automation system is complemented by the RB20 controller and the DDC control panel.

REMOTE MONITORING

Remote system monitoring – a service that not only effectively helps to reduce facility maintenance costs, but also optimises the operation of the heating system.

The service includes monitoring the system’s operating status, identifying the causes of faults, the facility manager regarding matters requiring intervention. In addition, remote monitoring also involves checking and optimising control system settings and adapting the energy source to the facility’s usage cycle.
