For over 60 years, VELUX has been applying its expertise to the development of loft windows. Today, our production facilities are among the best, and every stage of the manufacturing process is thoroughly checked. To
ensure the highest level of quality and that the windows function effectively in all climatic conditions, we use our weather simulator.

Quality control at VELUX is carried out at four levels:

Ensuring the quality of raw materials. During the production cycle, all raw materials and work are subject to random checks in accordance with established VELUX standards. For example, timber is checked for its quality and moisture content.
Requirements for all production processes. All operations in the manufacturing process have been meticulously documented using drawings and specifications. Compliance with tolerances, durability and appearance requirements is enforced through at all stages of production. In addition, quality inspectors carry out regular audit visits, to ensure that specific requirements are being met and that production systems are adapted to them.
Requirements for finished products. Random checks are carried out on finished VELUX products, i.e. the quality of the windows, their airtightness, durability and appearance are checked before they leave the factory.
Analysis of service calls. The recording of all service visits carried out by our service staff ensures that every problem encountered is documented and resolved. The random quality control system is also improved on this basis.

Before a new product is launched on the market, the following tests are carried out:

Material testing. The quality and type of materials are checked.
Product laboratory testing. The basic quality characteristics of the products are determined in specially designed laboratories. In the case of attic windows, these include tests for air and water tightness, resistance to harsh climatic conditions and mechanical strength. VELUX’s internal quality control ensures that the quality of products launched onto the market meets the highest quality standards at all times.

At the same time, thorough research and experiments are used to continuously improve products, their quality and durability, with user satisfaction in mind.

Approvals and certificates

VELUX roof windows and roof access hatches are approved in all countries where the VELUX brand is present (e.g. the French CSTB standard or the German DIN 18055), and have also been approved for sale on the Polish market by the relevant authorities. Our products hold ITB technical approvals, and our glazing has been awarded the B mark.
