Decking
The exotic decking boards we offer – Bangkirai, Keruing, Massaranduba, Cumaru, Tatajuba, Merbau and Ipe – are characterised by their exceptional resistance to biological decay in changing weather conditions. This is due to the high density of the decking boards and the large amount of natural oils they contain. The durability of these species, even without impregnation, is several times greater than that of impregnated pine. The tight grain of the wood gives it a beautiful, smooth surface, whilst the wide colour palette, ranging from sunny yellows to mahogany browns and reds, creates a unique atmosphere and ensures that the decking boards will remain a delight to the eye for many years to come. The price of decking varies depending on the species and thickness of the profile. Exotic decking adds prestige to any project.
All exotic decking boards are classified as first-class in terms of durability and are ideal for use on outdoor terraces, retaining their mechanical properties for several decades.
BANGKIRAI
Bangkirai wood (bankirai, bangkiraj, bankiraj) originates from South-East Asia. Bangkirai decking boards range in colour from yellow-brown through to brown and dark brown. Bangkirai decking boards are highly resistant to adverse weather conditions, as well as fungal and insect attacks.
Bangkirai decking works very well in garden architecture and requires no additional maintenance; however, to preserve the wood’s natural colour, it is recommended to oil the decking. This helps prevent the natural process of the board’s surface weathering to a silver-grey colour.
One of the characteristic features of Bangkirai wood (bankirai, bangkiraj, bankiraj) is the presence of small insect holes (so-called pinholes; maximum 1–1.5 mm in diameter). However, these are not a defect, as insects live exclusively in living wood.
Standard board lengths are:
2.15m/2.45m/2.755m/3.06m/3.36m/3.675m/3.98 m/4.28 m/4.59 m/4.895 m/5.20 m/5.495 m.
KERUING
Keruing decking boards come from Indonesia. Their density is 900 kg/m³. Keruing belongs to the same botanical family as the popular Bangkirai. A characteristic feature of Keruing decking boards is their high natural oil content, which, when combined with high levels of sunlight on the deck, can result in oil/resin seepage. This is a natural characteristic of this wood. The oil/resin can be easily removed mechanically once it has crystallised, usually after 2–3 days. The decking is very often confused with Bangkirai decking. Once oiled, Keruing decking is virtually indistinguishable from Bangkirai decking.
Keruing decking has very similar properties to Bangkirai decking. This means you can get similar quality at a much lower price. Having an exotic decking board at a price similar to that of domestic timber means that high quality is available at a reasonable price comparable to domestic decking.
MASSARANDUBA
Massaranduba timber is the hardest and most durable timber in our range. Its density of 1100 kg/m³ demonstrates this species’ high resistance to weather conditions. This timber has a natural burgundy-brown colour. Massaranduba decking boards are ideal for terraces. Massaranduba wood originates from South America. The very high density of Massaranduba wood makes decking boards of this species exceptionally durable.
Due to their natural durability, Massaranduba decking boards are widely used in the construction of uncovered terraces and those exposed to frequent contact with water. It is also ideal for building jetties or piers.
No additional treatment of these boards is required. However, to preserve the beautiful cherry-brown colour, it is recommended to oil the decking with a product designed for exotic wood.
Massaranduba will not lose its mechanical properties over the years, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful, modern terrace for a long time to come.
MERBAU
Merbau decking boards come in a wide range of shades. This type of decking timber originates from South-East Asia. The raw wood ranges in colour from yellow to brownish-orange.
Over time, Merbau decking boards darken. The colour palette ranges from reddish-brown to deep brown. A characteristic feature of the decking board is the golden flecks in the wood grain. These create a striking visual effect reminiscent of intricately crafted gold inlays. Merbau decking has a subtle, decorative grain and a non-uniform colour.
Merbau is characterised by excellent mechanical and physical properties. Its high mechanical resistance makes the board ideal for terraces directly exposed to the elements.
Decking boards are available as standard in lengths of 2.45 / 2.755 / 3.06 / 3.36 / 3.675 / 3.98 m.
EUROPEAN LARCH
Our European larch decking boards are kiln-dried and precision-machined (planed on all four sides).
You will always find 26mm thick and 120mm wide European larch decking boards in our warehouses. Our European larch decking boards are finely grooved on both sides. This prevents slipping when the wood is damp after rain or morning dew, and the fact that both sides of the decking board have the same profile allows you to choose the more attractive side when installing the decking.
The available lengths for European larch decking boards are 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 4.0m, 4.5m and 5.0m.
The European larch decking boards available from our company are manufactured by a plant with many years of experience and tradition in woodworking. European larch decking boards offer good quality at a low price.
SIBERIAN LARCH
Thanks to its slow annual growth, Siberian larch decking is harder than domestic/European larch decking. The natural colour of the wood and good value for money
. The trees from which these decking boards are made grow in distant Siberia, where the climate is very harsh. Decking made from trees growing in such harsh conditions is very hard and dense. This is due to the slow annual growth of Siberian larch. Siberian larch differs from European larch in its higher density, narrower growth rings and narrow earlywood zone, which has a significant impact on the wood’s strength. Siberian larch has numerous but fine growth rings, characteristic of this species.
Our range includes boards with a 24x143 profile in lengths of 2.0m, 3.0m, 4.0m, 5.1m, 5.4m and 6.0m.
PRESSURE-TREATED PINE
Pine decking is highly flexible, easy to install and mechanically robust. It is an excellent material for giving your decking a warm and visually appealing look in a cost-effective way. Polish pine decking boards are additionally pressure-treated, which significantly enhances their performance and weather resistance.
The available lengths for pressure-treated pine decking are 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 4.0m, 4.5m and 5.0m.
The pine decking boards available from our company are manufactured by a plant with many years of experience and tradition in woodworking. Pressure-treated pine decking boards offer good quality at a low price.
