We often don’t realise just how dangerous and heavy snow can be. It’s worth investing in snow guards for your roof to ensure that snow drifts falling from the roof do not pose a hazard.

The problem of snow sliding off the roof only appears to affect homeowners with steeply pitched roofs. Even those with less steep roofs will realise, as early as their first winter, that it is worth considering protective measures in this case too.

On less steep roofs, the problem can be even more acute. Whilst snow slides off steep slopes continuously, on roofs with a lower pitch, snow that has been lying for several days turns to ice as a result of repeated cycles of melting and freezing. The snowdrift becomes a heavy mass which, when sliding off the roof, can cause a great deal of damage.
