How Rettig Heating was founded

The history of Rettig Heating begins in the 1770s, when Steffen Cerillius Rettig passed his master tobacco exam in Hamburg. Around 1790, he founded a tobacco factory in Ringkjoping, Denmark, and in 1810 he launched a new production plant in Karlskrona, Sweden, under the name Jacob Rettig & Co. With the help of his son Steffen Cerillius Rettig, he expanded the business by successfully engaging in , shipbuilding and iron production.
