SCREWS FOR WOODEN STRUCTURES
Ideal for designing load-bearing connections
Screws for timber construction are suitable for a wide range of applications – from load-bearing timber joints, reinforcing timber components and metal-to-timber connections to fixing wood-based panels and thermal insulation.
In timber construction, there are many screw-based timber connections available. In order to design and construct load-bearing connections in accordance with EN 1995-1-1 (EC5), compliance with the European Technical Assessment (ETA) must be ensured.
The benefits our wood screws will offer you when carrying out timber construction projects:
- Cost-effective structural design thanks to the smallest possible edge distances, high load-bearing capacities, the most efficient number of screws and a high initial displacement modulus.
- Safe dimensioning and screw selection using design software and our technical manual.
- A wide, ETA-specified range of applications for a wide variety of timber building materials, such as solid softwood/hardwood, glued laminated timber and cement-bonded particleboard.
- Suitable for enclosed and heated spaces (Use Class I) as well as covered and open structures (Use Class II).
- A wide range of screws: from full-thread to partial-thread, with countersunk, cylindrical or double heads – with or without pre-drilling
Applications for the new Hilti wood screw
Our timber construction screws are highly durable fasteners designed for the following applications: roof insulation/facade fixing, axial and shear connections, connections between main and secondary beams, shear connections under tension, transverse connections, double beams and many others.
