As a manufacturer of TWS gratings, we guarantee the highest quality of our products. Our plastic gratings, reinforced with TWS fibreglass, are characterised by their light weight and exceptional resistance to mechanical damage and adverse external conditions.
At Trokotex, we offer plastic gratings that are rustproof, acid-resistant and non-slip, made from high-quality fibreglass and resin.
Applications for our gratings: Access platforms; Stair treads; Flooring; Platforms; Channel covers; Manhole and sump covers.
Grating is manufactured from glass-fibre-reinforced plastic (GFRP), also known as a composite, using high-quality synthetic resins and glass fibres. In the first stage of production, continuous strands of glass fibre (roving) are drawn onto forming machines, after which the fibres are impregnated with synthetic resins and cured. The grating is reinforced in the same way in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, giving it uniform strength in every direction, and any of the grating’s edges can serve as load-bearing elements.
Depending on the type of resin used to impregnate the fibreglass, we obtain a laminate:
- standard chemical-resistant (polyester resin-based),
- with enhanced chemical resistance (vinyl ester resin-based),
- flame-retardant in accordance with PN-EN 13501-1:2007 and ITB 401/2014 (based on self-extinguishing resin).
Grating can be manufactured with either a smooth or a non-slip surface. In the case of products with a non-slip surface, silicate particles with a diameter of 0.3–0.8 mm are embedded into the working surface during manufacture.
The properties of our platform gratings allow for:
- reduction in the weight of the structure,
- cost reduction thanks to ease of machining and the ability to cut, drill,
- durability in harsh weather conditions,
- increased durability thanks to high chemical and corrosion resistance,
- simplification of the construction process due to ease of assembly.

Corrosion resistance
Composite grating is completely corrosion-resistant, which contributes to its long service life. It does not require scraping, sandblasting or painting.
Lightweight
As it is lighter than steel, installation is quick and easy, with no need for heavy machinery. Weight: just 11.4 kg/m² (25 mm) or 18.7 kg/m² (38 mm).
Durability
: Resistance to harsh weather conditions, as well as chemical and corrosion resistance, ensure a long service life.
