Ares Tec – floor-standing condensing boilers

Ares Tec are floor-standing, multi-burner condensing boilers with a modular design, featuring heat exchangers made from an alloy of aluminium, silicon and magnesium. The heat exchanger consists of a suitable number of independent sections, known as heating modules. For example, the Ares Tec 300 boiler consists of 6 sections, meaning it has 6 independently operating modules.

Each boiler module is equipped with its own independently controlled, flat-bed modulating burner with low NOx emissions and full premixing. In addition to the burner, the heating module comprises a fan, a gas valve, an electronic control board and a range of measuring and safety components. Each module is also fitted with an exhaust damper.

All the heating modules that make up the boiler’s main heat exchanger are connected via hydraulic, gas and flue gas manifolds. This makes the boiler a fully self-contained unit that operates in a similar way to a cascade of independent boilers.

The heating modules of the Ares Tec boiler are activated in a cascade system, and the number of modules in operation depends on the heating output required at any given time. If the required heating output is sufficiently low, only a single module operates. Furthermore, the operating sequence of the individual modules is regularly changed to ensure even wear. The modular design has also made it possible to achieve a very wide range of power modulation for a single unit (e.g. the Ares Tec 900 boiler can operate with a minimum single-module output of approx. 21 kW, and the modulation range is 1 : 39).

The boiler’s operating logic is based on functioning at the highest possible efficiency. The boiler always aims to distribute power evenly across all modules, and the burners operate at a uniform, minimum possible output. The instantaneous, total rated power required by the load is generated evenly across the boiler’s individual thermal modules (e.g. in the case of the Ares Tec 200 boiler, the required instantaneous power of 48 kW will be distributed across 4 modules, each operating at a minimum power of 12 kW).

The Ares Tec range of high-output boilers includes units with outputs ranging from 150 to 900 kW, as well as additional accessories such as safety groups, circulation pumps, hydraulic kits with a hydraulic coupling or heat exchanger, and condensate neutralisers.

Ares Tec boilers can be connected in series in cascades of up to 8 units.
