BLACK WOOD records

BLACK WOOD raw boards are high-density fibreboards (HDF) with a uniform composition throughout their cross-section. This gives them good machinability during cutting. They are dyed black throughout.

BLACK WOOD laminated boards are boards with a surface finish created by pressing sheets of resin-impregnated decorative paper (melamine films) onto them. The black edges of the boards give them a distinctive, highly original and stylish look.

BLACK WOOD boards have low swelling properties, which means they can be used in damp conditions. Their fire-retardant properties make them suitable for use in public spaces.

ADVANTAGES OF BLACK WOOD LAMINATE BOARDS:

  • moisture resistance (low swelling) – suitable for use in rooms with high humidity
  • fire resistance (C-s1,d0) – suitable for interior fittings, including public buildings
  • surface resistance to light
  • safe for health (hygiene class E1/ED2020)
  • antibacterial properties
  • wood-based product – natural and eco-friendly
  • no need to edge the panels, though this is an option
  • ultra-thin – gives the room a unique sense of lightness and elegance
  • can be routed

INFORMATION REGARDING PROCESSING

TOOLS - BLACK WOOD boards can be machined using standard woodworking tools, with feed and cutting speeds similar to those used for MDF laminated boards. Due to its higher density, machining parameters should be adjusted if necessary.

GLUING - The high density of BLACK WOOD panels allows for the use of standard soft adhesives, polyurethane adhesives and construction adhesives. Fittings can be installed using construction adhesive. It is recommended to lightly sand the surface to be glued to achieve the correct roughness. Thanks to the slim profile of BLACK WOOD panels, fittings designed for glass can be used
, for example.

PROTECTION - The black-stained wood-fibre base panels can be protected using, for example, varnish, wax, oil or petroleum jelly. The quality of the edges and surface depends on the condition of the tools used.
