SWISS KRONO sp. z o.o.
We are one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wood-based panels and products.
Swiss quality and heritage
SWISS KRONO sp. z o.o. is part of the Swiss Krono Group (Ernst Kaindl), a global leader in the wood-based products industry.
The company was established in 1994 following the holding’s acquisition of Państwowe Zakłady Płyt Wiórowych. The signing of the notarial deed on 7 January marked the beginning of a new era.
The Swiss investor, providing multi-million-zloty investment, quickly modernised the machinery and technology. As a result, the quality of the boards produced was noticed and appreciated by customers. However, this was only the beginning of changes and investments.
Milestones
1994 – the start of investment and the development of products for the furniture industry.
A chipboard production line is launched, revolutionising operations at the factory in Żary. It is Poland’s first ContiRoll press, ensuring the highest board specifications, unattainable with other technologies.
1997 – Kronopol enters the construction products market.
We launch an OSB board production line, the first in the world to use ContiRoll technology. This is an investment on an international scale.
1998 – development of new products.
A third ContiRoll production line for MDF boards is established. This provides the impetus for the development of new products, mainly laminate flooring and wall panels.
Continuous development
Since its inception, SWISS KRONO has invested in the development of refined products, expanding its fleet of presses for laminating, post-forming and formatting. As our product range has expanded, we have expanded our distribution network, both in Poland and in foreign markets.
Today, SWISS KRONO exports its products to 50 countries across all continents.
World-class specialists
SWISS KRONO’s greatest strength lies in its employees. The company’s workforce is a stable and highly motivated team of professionals. Thanks to the commitment of our people and our belief in success, we have managed to achieve so much.
It is also worth highlighting the contribution of our international colleagues from the holding company, who provided advice and expertise, particularly during the early stages of the company’s development. Today, Polish specialists also assist their colleagues at all the group’s plants around the world.
