HST lift-and-slide doors

HARMONY OF SPACE

Large windows allow you to break down all barriers, save space and freely design the layout of your home. Rooms filled with light, proximity to nature, the absence of barriers and the optimal use of living space offer a new perspective on interior design.

SLIDING DOORS – FUNCTIONALITY AND EASE OF USE

The HST 85 mm lift-and-slide doors are the ideal solution for those seeking a seamless transition between the interior and the terrace, as well as the panoramic views afforded by the large glazed area. Special hardware mechanisms allow the massive sashes to be moved with minimal effort. Turning the large handle downwards from the closed position lifts the sash by a few millimetres, releases the pressure on the seals and allows the sashes to slide freely.

What sizes are HST sliding patio doors available in?

An undeniable advantage of this type of patio door is the range of sizes available. The sash width can range from 0.8 m to 3 m, with a height of up to 2.7 m in white, allowing for glazing of over six metres in length.

What are the opening mechanisms for HST sliding doors?

The 85 mm HST lift-and-slide door is available in at least several different versions and configurations of door leaves and fixed panels. The variety of designs is one of the undeniable advantages of this solution. The most popular HST door configurations are the 2-panel variants – with one or both panels movable – or the 4-panel variants – with the two central panels or all panels movable.

Are lift-and-slide doors airtight?

In this design, the seal is provided by integrated gaskets, which ensures a high level of airtightness. Adequate sealing of the space between the moving HST door leaves when they are in the closed position is ensured by a special arrangement of overlapping catches fitted with a system of rebate gaskets.

HST doors feature specialised window fittings that ensure the sashes slide smoothly and effortlessly against one another or against the non-opening parts of the structure.

Are the HST 85 lift-and-slide doors well-insulated?

Changes to the design of the sections have led to a significant improvement in the thermal transmittance of the profile assemblies, which, depending on the option selected, allows for a weighted average U-value of Uf= from 1.5 W(m²·K) in the Basic version, through Uf = 1.3 W(m²·K) in the Standard version, to Uf = 1.1 W(m²·K) in the Premium version. Despite their enormous size, HST doors therefore remain an effective barrier against heat loss.

The table below shows the heat transfer coefficient (Uw) values for example HST doors (DIAGRAM A) measuring 4000 x 2300 mm, glazed with double-glazed units with a heat transfer coefficient for the central part of the pane of Ug = 0.5 W(m² * K) and Ug = 0.7 W(m²·K), and a linear thermal transmittance coefficient for the thermal bridge at the junction of the glazing and the frame of Ψ = 0.04 W(m²·K).

ONE SYSTEM – THREE VERSIONS

A new feature introduced by aluplast is the modular design, which allows for three different product configurations**,** depending on the required thermal performance. Thanks to the freedom to choose different combinations of profiles in the door lintel and threshold sections, we can choose between three options: Basic, Standard and Premium, which, combined with the option of using energy-efficient glazing units up to 51 mm wide, allows for very high thermal insulation performance of the structure.

A BARRIER-FREE HOME? OF COURSE!

LOW THRESHOLD ON THE PATIO DOOR.

The HST 85 mm sliding door system is a solution that allows your dream home to be filled with light, free from architectural barriers, close to the surrounding nature, yet comfortable, warm and safe.

HST doors are a modern and secure solution, designed to eliminate ubiquitous barriers. The low door threshold, measuring 48 mm in height and capable of being recessed into the room wall to its full depth, meets the requirements for barrier-free construction and allows for easy entry and exit. This solution also allows the threshold to be flush with the floor surface, thereby completely eliminating architectural barriers. Specially shaped threshold feet allow for connection to additional system profiles, such as extensions.

HST 85 MM FIXFRAME. EVEN MORE LIGHT

The new HST 85 fixframe system solution, featuring an extremely narrow frame in the fixed glazing section, fulfils the requirement to maximise glazed areas, increase the amount of light entering rooms and make effective use of solar heat.

The particularly slim profile of the fixed glazing **ensures even greater light penetration into the living space** – for a high quality of life and additional solar heat gains!

Sliding doors and interior design

The illustration below says it all about the advantages of HST doors in optimising usable and living space. As an alternative to sliding doors, classic balcony doors protrude significantly into the living space when opened, thereby dictating the possible interior design solutions. Despite having a greater installation depth than classic balcony doors, it is the HST doors that offer more freedom in the use of space.

A wealth of colours

The hst 85 mm lift-and-slide door system is available in a wide range of decorative films and with aluskin aluminium cladding. You can now easily customise, select and preview how the colours of individual building components complement each other using the aluplast colour configurator.

Add to this the virtually unlimited amount of natural light flooding into the rooms through the huge glazed surfaces of the sashes, and the elimination of any potential access barriers thanks to the low-threshold door design, and what more could you ask for from a balcony door? In a word.
