Smart-Slide sliding doors represent a new generation of sliding patio doors, characterised above all by their excellent technical specifications and ease of use.

HIGH STRUCTURAL TIGHTNESS 

Smart-slide sliding doors are a new solution in the sliding door and window sector, which could ultimately prove to be an attractive alternative to PSK/PATIO-style patio doors. This is an excellent solution both for single-family homes and for public buildings, where patio doors are expected to be easy to operate and reliable. A well-thought-out combination of technical solutions means that smart-slide achieves excellent results in tests for air permeability, wind resistance and watertightness. All this is thanks to the precisely fitted perimeter seals on the sash, which are pressed transversely against the frame around the entire perimeter when the handle is turned. High tightness is also ensured by locking points in the mullion area.

EASE OF USE

The innovative closing mechanism allows for simple and intuitive operation, similar to the solutions used in HST lift-and-slide doors. Specialist window fittings ensure that, once unlocked, the sash slides freely and without the slightest resistance on rollers relative to the non-opening part of the structure. The locking mechanism allows the sash to close gently into the frame, thereby ensuring easy operation of the sliding door.

With a leaf depth of 70 mm and a frame depth of 140 mm, the new smart-slide sliding doors offer a wide range of applications, including in renovation projects.

STABILITY AND THE ABILITY TO CONSTRUCT LARGE STRUCTURES

Large glass surfaces are very much in vogue. Smart-slide meet this demand by enabling the creation of a glazed structure with leaf dimensions of 1.5 x 2.3 m, which in configuration C allows for glazing with total dimensions of 5.85 x 2.3 m. Locking around the entire perimeter of the leaf ensures high clamping force, whilst at the same time, when opened, the leaf slides extremely smoothly with minimal effort. This is a significant advantage, particularly when compared to tilt-and-slide systems, which can become cumbersome to operate after a large number of opening and closing cycles. Additionally, thanks to the profile design utilising Multifalz technology, there is the option to use glazing-in technology, which ensures greater rigidity of the entire structure.

EASY TO MAKE

The new smart-slide doors are characterised by their ease of manufacture, which ensures high production efficiency. This is made possible primarily by the small number of profiles used in their production. As with patio doors, the frame is welded; the system uses a mullion from the Ideal 4000 system, and the fixed glazing is fitted directly into the frame. The entire production process can be carried out using standard machinery.

SPACE-SAVING

The use of smart-slide sliding doors also represents a step towards making optimal use of interior space, as opening the doors does not require the panels to swing out, which would otherwise encroach significantly on the living space. Smart-slide doors can be manufactured in two configurations, A and C: 

• A: 2-panel – with one movable panel
• C: 4-panel – with two central movable panels

FREEDOM TO CHOOSE COLOURS

Smart-slide doors are available in a wide range of our decorative films, and the system also allows for the use of Aluskin aluminium cladding, which further expands the range of colour options available. 

The Smart-Slide doors made their debut at this year’s Fensterbau Frontale trade fair in Nuremberg, where they attracted a great deal of interest.
