BSP KB ALUMINIUM BALUSTRADES

Product descriptionTechnical dataDocumentation

The BSP KB system is an aluminium system for external and internal balustrades, compatible with various types of infill, including glass, HPL panels and photovoltaic panels. The system comprises the following components:

  • aluminium brackets
  • vertical posts
  • post reinforcement
  • bottom fixing profiles for infill
  • handrail profiles
  • balustrade infill

The system is available in a number of different designs. There are two methods of fixing the balustrades:

  • from the front edge of the balcony slab
  • from the top of the balcony slab

In addition, we distinguish between three types of bottom fixing for the infill:

  • for full coverage, without a diffuser
  • with aluminium cover
  • with a reflector made from a custom-selected cladding

and four types of grip:

  • one-piece shallow
  • one-piece deep
  • two-piece shallow
  • two-piece deep

KO-01 aluminium brackets are fixed to the front edge of the balcony slab. They are manufactured from extruded aluminium profiles in the shape of the letter ‘Pi’. The console walls are suitably thickened to withstand the increased loads of the balustrade at a post spacing of 1.2 m. As an alternative to KO-01 consoles, K1 consoles with a greater projection can be used.

The KO-02 aluminium brackets, on the other hand, are fixed to the top of the balcony slab. They consist of an aluminium base and a welded vertical profile, onto which the PR-01 vertical balustrade post is slid.

The PR-01 balustrade posts measure 50 x 65 mm and are secured to the console arms with screws, in the same way as in a mullion-and-transom façade system.

The top fixing for the balustrade infill, which also serves as the balustrade handrail, can be either a single-piece or two-piece unit. In the case of a two-part fixing, the P-05 profile, fitted with a socket and seals, is fixed first, serving as the upper fixing for the balustrade infill. Next, a second cover profile, P-03 or P-04, is fixed to this profile, forming the visible part of the balustrade handrail. The advantage of this solution is that the balustrade infill can be fixed in place well before the decorative handrail section is fitted, which can be installed at the final stage of assembly, after the scaffolding has been dismantled. This prevents the decorative section from being exposed to mechanical damage.

BSP Instructional Video

Full support from BSP throughout the design process for balustrades and façades!

In order to continue supporting you in your work and helping you develop your skills, we have created two systems within Revit, in line with the BIM methodology, which is now firmly established in the market.

These systems are designed for our most popular product ranges: balustrades and ventilated facades.

However, we know that the work doesn’t end with simply creating the files. That’s why, as part of our comprehensive support, we’ve produced two instructional videos to help you use them correctly within your project environment.

Instructional video for designers – modelling BSP Bracket System balustrades using BIM technology

The video explains in simple terms how to choose and customise the most suitable option from among the 9 basic balustrade designs. It demonstrates how to make changes within the system. The programme automatically selects the post spacing, whilst within the system it is possible to make several changes:
- adjust the individual post spacing -
change the height of the posts -
adjust the height of the infill and the bottom finish (
skirting) - select the appropriate infill for the project (glass, HPL, photovoltaic panel)
- change the colour scheme

We hope this short video will give you an easy and enjoyable introduction to all the benefits of BSP Bracket System balustrades.
