COCONUT MATS, 100 CM WIDE AND ANY LENGTH
- 100% coconut fibre yarn,
- backing: PVC,

- abrasion resistance, class 3-4 (ISO 105 E01 1-5)
The coconut industry developed in the 1950s. Coconut fibres are found in the layer between the coconut and its outer shell. Freshly harvested coconuts yield slightly lighter-coloured fibre than older coconuts. The production and supply of mats is handled by specialist companies in India.
The mats we offer are made from natural coconut fibre spun mechanically. This gives the mat a uniform, regular pattern with minimal fibre loss. The mats have a PVC backing that is resistant to mechanical damage; they absorb moisture, remove dirt and are suitable for indoor use.
WE OFFER COCONUT MATS FOR SALE, EITHER EMBEDDED IN THE GROUND OR LAID ON THE GROUND'S SURFACE
COCONUT MAT INSTALLED IN THE FLOOR WITH A 15MM-HIGH ALUMINIUM FRAME AND A GALVANISED STEEL BASE
To ensure the mat remains stable within the prepared recess, Bela has used its tried-and-tested 15 mm high frame system, which is fitted into the floor structure to create a sealed, sealed and clean recess finished with sheet metal and an aluminium edge. A coconut fibre mat on a PVC backing with a total height of 13 mm or 17 mm is inserted into the recess prepared in this way. This system creates no barriers; the floor is on a single horizontal plane, and the mat’s fibres, which protrude by 3 mm (when using the 17 mm mat), thoroughly clean and dry footwear.
Once fitted in this way, the mat is easy to clean by removing it from its recess.
USE OF A COCONUT MAT WHERE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CREATE A DEPRESSION IN THE SUBSTRATE
In this situation, we use tried-and-tested stainless steel or aluminium ramps with a height of 13 mm or 15 mm, which can be permanently bolted or glued to the floor.
We can use a ramp and three different frames filled with sheet metal, as shown in the photo, so that a frame with a base plate can be laid without fixing it to the ground, with the ramp facing the direction of approach. A product prepared in this way, stable on the ground and with a total height of up to 15 mm, can be used in front of your door threshold. These solutions are also illustrated by the cross-sections included in the catalogue.
The mats measure 1 m in width plus a 2 mm frame, or alternatively a 40 mm ramp. We recommend securing the finished unit to prevent it from shifting and to avoid accidents; the cleaning path should be between 45 cm and 100 cm.
The natural coconut colour will transform the look of the entrance, whilst the use of aluminium and sheet metal will ensure durability and many years of service.
